Q: 1. What is Team GetShook?
A: TEAM GETSHOOK is a leading basketball program servicing the Northwest Metro and Twin Cities communities. We are committed to the success of the youth and we take great PRIDE in developing the basketball skills necessary to achieve individual and team growth. We instill in the boys and girls the drive to be successful on the court at every step of the way. If you have a desire to improve your game, than no matter what your skill level is , TEAM GETSHOOK has a team and a solution that is right for you.

Q: 2. How is Team GetShook's organization different from all the other basketball clubs out there?
A: We are different because we believe it all starts with you "The child and the parent". For that reason, you can rest assure that GetShook’s teams will be coached by experienced and talented individuals who exhibit outstanding teaching, communication and leadership skills. Coaches will generally have extensive College, High school or AAU coaching experience. All coaches will be required to acknowledge and sign a “Code of Conduct and Ethics” statement prior to coaching in the program. We will continue to work hard at building a focused program that prides itself on creating opportunities for youth from all walks of life and backgrounds, in order to help pursue their goals at becoming student athletes in college. Our program will be there to assist with that transition for many years to come.

Q: 4. How do I register?
A: We have two ways parents can register for Team GetShook's programs. 1. We have built a robust website that will securely handle your online registrations. You can register on-line for any of GetShook's programs or teams under the Registration/Forms link on our website. 2. You can download all the necessary forms to Register for Team GetShook's programs. You will then need to fill out and mail back to Team GetShook at our mailing address: PO Box # 1893 Maple Grove, MN 55311. Q: 5. Do you offer Pre - Registration?
A: We do have pre-registration. Parents will be able to register their child early on - line under the Registration/Forms link and or mail the downloaded Registration form to our mailing address.
Please Note: That for on-line registrations you will need to print a copy of the Registration form before it is submitted and bring it with you the night of Tryouts for check in . After your online registration you will be redirected to our online payment center to process your payment.
In the spring you will need to bring COPY of birth certificate. No originals will be accepted. and something that proves your child’s grade (report card). It is not needed in the fall.

Q: 6. How much is the Player Fee?

*Some teams may play additional tournaments, which will result in slightly higher season fees for tournament entry fee's.
*Please Note: Our older Elite Travel Teams that travel throughout the country will have slightly higher cost associated with their teams. Q: 7. How do we make payment?
A: You can pay on - line under the Registration/Forms link, or you can mail a check along with the Registration forms to our Mailing address at: Team GetShook, PO Box 1893, Maple Grove, MN 55311 - 55369 made out to: Team GetShook. In addition Payments can be turned in to your coach.

Q: 12. Refund Policy?
A: TEAM GETSHOOK REFUND POLICY & PROCEDURE
The following TEAM GETSHOOK refund policy extends to all GETSHOOK program segments including all teams.
Refunds must be completed online (for participants that registered online) or by mail (for participants that registered in person or by mail).

The date entered online or post-marked date on the envelope is considered the date of the request. No refund requests for any reason will be processed for requests made on or after the date of the first game of the season (significant expenses have been incurred by the Team GetShook by the time of the first game, as well as significant decisions regarding team composition). Otherwise, the following is applicable:
A refund of 100% will be made before the player's team membership is determined (less a 10% processing fee for online registrations).
A refund of 50% will be made for other than Traveling players after team membership is determined, but before the date of the team's first game (less a 10% processing fee for online registrations).
No Refund of late fees will be paid.
No refund will be made with regard to Traveling/Elite players once team membership has been determined.
Regardless of the date of the refund request, refunds requested via mail will not be processed until June. Refunds are payable to the signature and address on the original registration form. If the signature is not legible, the refund shall be payable to the first parent / guardian name on the original registration form.

Q: 13. What if my child cannot attend tryout?
A: Email team.cooridator@teamgetshook.com and let us know. Odds are we will still be able to get them on a team.

Q: 14. Is there a tryout fee?
A: Yes, we do charge a nominal $20 fee in Spring/Summer/Fall to cover our tryout expenses such as gym rental etc.

Q: 15. What is done at GetShook tryouts?
A: Players participate in drills and some 5 on 5 scrimmages. Players are evaluated on basketball fundamentals, sportsmanship, and game skills.
Tryout evaluators determine a player’s skill level so they can be placed on an appropriately leveled team.

Q: 16. Does my child have to attend both nights of tryouts for the spring season?
A: We strongly recommend that players attend both nights unless they have another commitment.

Q: 17. Can my child request to be on the same team as someone else?
A: Yes, we have a spot where that can be requested on the registration form. We will do our best to honor these requests; however, Team GetShook cannot guarantee that players will be placed on teams together. Final team makeup depends on the number of players we have trying out in an age group and the skill level of all players.

Q: 18. What nights will my child practice?
A: We will not know practice schedules until after tryouts. Practice dates will vary depending on the team and coach schedule.

Q: 19. What weekends will my child play?
A:
In the spring/summer, the season schedule is not released until after tryouts, so we will not know what weekends your child will play on until after tryouts.
In the fall season, players will play the last two Sundays in September and the first two in October.

Q: 20. Does GetShook teams travel out of state?
A: Some of our older grades and Travel teams do plan for out of state tournaments. However, our website will highlight any out of state tournaments that we will be playing in and coaches will discuss any out of state travel
plans/extraordinary expenses with all potential players and parents before teams are formed. You will also be able to find this information
on our website under Tournaments after teams or formed.

Q: 21. Can my child play another sport and play for Team GetShook?
A: Many of our program players play multiple sports. Our coaches will be flexible as we try to tailor to our athletes’ schedules.

Q: 22. Do you offer winter basketball?
A: We do not currently offer winter basketball. We encourage all our players to play with their school/community teams.
We do however throughout the winter offer Skills development, basketball Clinics and some of our Clinics are FREE.

Q: 23. What level of competition is available in spring, summer and fall? How competitive are the games compared to the regular winter season?
A: Spring/Summer and Fall leagues generally offer Division 1 (high A), Division 2 (low A high B), and Division 3 (B-C) brackets through MYAS. Our Upper Level Elite Teams will play a Highly competitive local and National AAU and USSA schedule. The level of competition varies greatly depending on the division your team plays in. The Spring and Summer offers the most competitive environment for basketball in your division. Our players can expect to be playing some of the Top local and national talent. This is the allure of Spring and Summer basketball is to play the best so that your game improves and allows you to build a name for yourself by playing some of the top talent. Many of our players and parents understand that Spring and Summer provides them with many opportunities to improve, play a high competitive schedule, College Recruiting opportunities, and a chance to establish a name on the local and national level and for the younger kids it's a chance to develop your skills as an up and coming basketball player.

Q: 24. How are players placed on teams?
A: Coaches use the written evaluation results from tryouts to form the best, most balanced teams for each level of competition. All decisions are final.

Q: 25. How many kids are on a team?
A: We try and cap at 10 players unless we know in advance that there are players on the team who will miss significant time. It is our goal to keep teams at 9 players.

Q: 26. How many tournaments do we get for our fee?
A: TBA in-state tournaments are provided, with the team option to add additional tournaments or regional tournaments. Fall basketball is 4 consecutive Sundays in Sept/Oct. For our older players that make the Elite Teams that travel out of state for tournaments, the schedule will be available as spring/summer approaches.
