I first met Don Ferguson on the basketball court at Minnesota State Moorhead in 1995 where we spent two seasons playing together competing for our alum. The first thing I learned about Don is that he is an intense competitor. Don does whatever it takes to win whether it’s playing defense, scoring, passing, or rebounding. He was always a team player who showed up ready to work and improve his game each and every day. Don was also a leader on and off the court. His success on the basketball court spilled over into his academic and personal life. I could see right away that because of his focus and work habits, he was one of those people who only knows how to succeed. I have been involved in High School and College Basketball as a player or coach for over 15 years. During that time, I have not met anyone who is more qualified and would do a better job of running a youth basketball program than Coach Ferguson. I would consider it a privilege to have my son or daughter be a part of his program.
