Tryout Date: Please check below for your Grade and Tryout Time. We will be having open registration for the first half hour, so if your Tryout time is from 6-8pm, the first 30 minutes from 6-6:30 will be registration and Tryouts will begin at 6:30. In order to save on time, we have an online pre - registration form that can be filled out prior to tryouts..

7th Grade Boys - Tryouts March 16th, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm

8th Grade Boys - Tryouts March 18th, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm

9th Grade Boys - Tryouts March 18th, 2010 from 8:00pm - 10:00pm

5th and 6th Grade Boy - Tryouts March 23rd from 6:00 - 8:00pm

10th Grade Boys -Tryouts March 25th, 2010 from 6pm - 8:00pm

11th Grade Boys- Tryouts March 25th, 2010 from 8:00pm - 10:00pm

*All participants will be evaluated on shooting, dribbling, and 5-on-5 offensive and defensive skills and ability.
*Teams will begin practices in early April and play through the beginning of June. Our Elite teams will be practicing through the early part of August. Practices will be held twice each week and run for an hour and a half. Practices will be held at Osseo Jr. High, Osseo Sr. High and Plymouth Middle School. Practice times will be posted once the teams are formed.

What to bring to Tryouts

Important information to bring when attending a GetShook tryout.

1. Each athlete is REQUIRED to bring a COPY of their BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
2. Full Payment due at Tryout as outlined in our Fee Chart listed below.
3. Please bring a reversible numbered jersey to help identify you during tryouts. Please make check or money order payable to Team GetShook.
The payment, birth certificate, registration/parent permission, MUST all be collected the day of your tryout. You will not be allowed to participate without them.

Team GetShook History: Team Getshook was created by Don Ferguson, a former all conference college basketball player who was a former player and student athlete with leadership abilities and playing experience at various levels ranging from AAU, High School and College basketball. I have spent the better half of my life dedicated to the game of basketball that I love and that has given me so much and so many life experiences and friendships. The game of basketball has provided me the chance to play talent from all over the world. As a kid growing up in Indianapolis, the Hoosier state and the home of basketball, this is where my foundation was laid and my skills developed and what has helped shape me into the man I am today. In the spring of 2009 Team GetShook's boys basketball program entered it's first season playing in local and National tournaments through AAU, MYAS and USSSA. Our programs first team participated in the boys 12 and under top division and were fortunate to have a great coach and a talented bunch of kids.

 Team GetShook's Mission all starts with you. For that reason, you can rest assure that GetShook’s teams will be coached by experienced and talented individuals who exhibit outstanding teaching and dedication to skill development, communication and leadership skills. Our basketball program seeks to provide a fresh new perspective to youth amateur sports. It is our mission and commitment to building a sports platform for young boys and girls of all ages to excel in athletics while gaining an experience that will last them a lifetime.

Team GetShook's Basketball Program Philosophy:

It is our goal to place the best players on the most competitive team in their age group while still offering a solution for all to play on one of our teams in our program. We will also field highly competitive teams that will be playing a rigorous tournament schedule that emphasizes competition against the top youth teams locally and Nationally. Playing time is not always equal and is determined by hard work, determination, and following program rules. Unlike many programs that are based on how much you pay is how much you play, Team GetShook's approach is how hard you work, having the heart to leave it all between the lines, and a winning attitude is what determines your outcome. The program will also place a high emphasis on participation in high-profile events that are heavily attended by college coaches. We ask all of our coaches to challenge their players every day in practice and insist on their best effort. Our coaches will not tolerate bad attitudes, tardiness, lack of hustle or the desire to compete. With this approach, this ensures that all kids in our network will have an opportunity to play for one of our teams and constantly be working on developing their skills and enjoy playing the game of basketball. -
